Anna's response to how it came to pass
First I want to say that it's easy to be smart afterwards. Cassandra has been with us for 3 weeks as we speak, and there's still peace in the house. No furniture destroyed, no vases/flowerpots dropped and no general mayhem about. Just a crazy half-hour every morning and evening. :c)
Anyway, to the point. I haven't known many cats in my life, but almost every single one has been calm and friendly (only the ones I know in common with Arno have been monsters). I also believe in the general good of every living being, and that cats, with no exception to the rule, aren't destructive by nature. When a cat destroys, there is always a reason behind the behavior. They might be bored, seek for attention or just have the instinctive urge of sharpening their claws. Kittens are like babies, and some destructive behavior in the form of playing will be inevitable. However, by learning the reason behind the behavior allows it to be altered according to one's wishes.
I had established a firm belief in the goodness of Cassandra's character, and she has not let us down (yet). Teenage is yet to come (about half a year between 0.5-1.5 years of age), and our patience will probably be thoroughly tested. I will report back in a year or so, and we'll see who's the last man/woman/cat standing... After that, there will be one person who's allowed to say I told you so!
