July 25th 2004
We've had Cassandra home now for about a week, and we haven't slept long anymore since a week.
Ofcourse, cats are nocturnal animals. Lazy during the day, and active during the night. Supposedly.
Cassandra is lazy during the day, and mostly also during the night. At least to my knowledge. But well... You can fire a gun in my ear and I'll sleep through it, so I guess I'm not really a good standard to compare things with :o)
Anyway, the past week we've found out that Cassandra's most active moments are during the evening, when we would like to go to bed, and (very) early in the mornings, when we would like to sleep a bit still.
In the evenings she just goes completely bonkers, and she runs at top speed from the bedroom to the computer and back. I have really no idea what the purpose of this is, and I have a faint idea that she doesn't either *grins*
In the mornings it's a whole different story. Then she doesn't seem to be overly active, just very eager to get us awake.
The first or second morning I woke up because first she was balancing on all fours on my biceps, rolling the muscle back and forth. And when that didn't wake me up sufficiently she stepped towards my face and started licking at the corner of my eye.
The fourth time or so I woke up because she dropped down on my pillow next to my ear and kept on purring. She's a real purring-machine.
The three other times I woke up because Anna sat up straight in bed trying to tell her loudly not to eat her toes anymore. For some reason she likes Anna's toes better than mine. I haven't caught Cassandra yet nibbling on my toes (knock on wood). Anna did tell me that she woke up some time during the night and saw Cassandra play with my hair or walk over my body, but that I haven't noticed :o)
Anyway... All these things happened between 5 and 6.30 in the mornings. So we don't really need any clock anymore to wake us up. We've got Cassandra :o)
