Political integrity

A politician living towards the upcoming election:
"My people, choose me and I will promise you perfection!"
"The ideas coming from the other party
are nothing but an empty bubble
even if they look fancy."

The politician after his election victory
wraps his arms around his people joyfully.
"Everything will change from now.
Taxes, unemployment, you name it
and I will make it better somehow."

The politician during his reigning term
in a desperate effort to squirm:
"My people, promises are expensive,
so taxes will be raised
and I have nothing left to give."
