August 2003
A different entry than the last several poetry scams.
When I first created this website, together with Anna, it was supposed to be a place where we would post our feelings and our thoughts and our experiences. At that point I'd never even heard of poetry.com or Noble House Publishers.
When I first started writing about poetry.com, it was merely out of a joke, to put also that experience on writing. It turned out to be something the size of a small book. It has been fun doing, and it was interesting to find out all those things that I wrote about. I'm also happy that I'm able to help people in this way, by warning them for something with a not so noble cause.
On the other hand, I truly regret that it's taken the attention off from what I — we — initially made on this website. Our poetry and scribblings concerning other things then poetry scams.
Right now it seems that all the people visiting the website come here solely to read about how poetry.com is a scam and how Noble House Publishers are fooling you into buying your "published" work. Look at the guestbook entries and you'll know what I mean. Only ocassionally will you find a reaction that goes beyond the poetry scams saga.
That stings a bit. Even if I myself have fun reading it back, I really wish that people would stop also on the other parts of the website. I know that they are probably more valuable to us than to any of you, but I think they are worth reading.
Check on the other little stories that Anna and I wrote. Check on the poetry...
It would be an easy way out to delete the poetry scam stories, but I think it would also mean deleting some valuable information.
Anyway... Just throwing my heart out...
