What is it that separates attraction between friends and attraction between lovers? Both cases require a certain "click" so that both parts felt attracted to each other — but where is the line?

It's said that there really exists chemistry between people; hormones that influence ourselves and the other one through air and touch. Endorphine + serotonin + dopamine = the famous Love Potion. Does this also exist between friends? For a good friendship it is required that both persons are attracted to each other. It's added to trust and mutual experiences — and everything brought together makes "friendship".

Friendship in itself is never really difficult, it's only when you take that step further in love when the problems occur. In this situation it's called to be "more than friends"... in love, that is! What happened? What's the kind of "BOOM" that came in between and transformed everything? If someone tells me they're in the state of "falling in love", doesn't that mean that when they've realized it, it's already happened?
